Dudney Joseph Jr’s journey from Buffalo, NY, to the dazzling lights of New York City is a testament to his diverse talents and unwavering dedication. Born to Jamaican immigrants, Dudney's upbringing instilled in him a rich cultural heritage that would later influence his artistic endeavors. His appreciation of the arts began at an early age and were discovered in the embrace of his local church.
It was within the walls of his high school that Dudney's passion for the performing arts truly flourished, under the guidance of supportive mentors in the Theatre and Music departments. Despite pursuing a successful career in Information Technology, Dudney's heart belonged to the stage, where he dedicated himself to honing his craft as an actor.
Dudney’s versatility shines through his performances, spanning from Off-Broadway productions like "Cats: The Jellicle Ball" at PAC NYC and "The Harder They Come" at The Public Theater, to regional hits such as "Angels in America" and "Little Shop of Horrors." His film credits include roles in "The True Adventures of Wolfboy" and "The American Side," while his TV appearances range from "The Crowded Room" to "Wu-Tang: An American Saga and Run The World." Notably, Dudney's stage presence has graced productions like "Ain't Misbehavin'," "In The Heights," and his acclaimed portrayal of Jacob in "La Cage Aux Folles," earning him the prestigious 2014 Artie Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.
